Conversations

A place for interviews, founder conversations and online events from Dance Sport Trust.

Dance Sport Trust Conversations brings together spoken content connected to the wider experiences that shape Dance Sport.

Through founder conversations, interviews and invited guests, we will explore the areas where dance, sport, performance, development, safeguarding and wellbeing meet.

These conversations are intended to support understanding, awareness and signposting. They are not a substitute for professional, medical, psychological, legal, safeguarding or emergency advice.

We hope to hear from dancers, teachers, parents, coaches, adjudicators and people with relevant experience in areas such as wellbeing, safeguarding, youth development, education, sport and performance.

Topics may include dancer development, parental support, teaching environments, safeguarding awareness, performance culture, long-term participation, wellbeing, identity, transitions and the changing demands placed on dancers today.

Our first conversations will begin with the founding members of Dance Sport Trust, sharing why the Trust was created, what gaps we noticed, and what we hope this work may contribute.

As this part of the Trust develops, this page will become a home for interviews, podcast episodes and carefully selected conversations that sit alongside our wider resources and guidance.

The Conversation Series

Each conversation will focus on an area where dance, sport, performance, development, safeguarding and wellbeing overlap.

These events are designed to support understanding, awareness and thoughtful discussion. They sit alongside our wider resources and guidance, helping the Dance Sport community think more clearly about support, responsibility and long-term participation.

1 / Why We Started the Conversation

The first online conversation in Dance Sport Trust’s Conversation Series.

Dance Sport asks a great deal of dancers, families, teachers, coaches and adjudicators, yet clear guidance and support can be difficult to find.

This first online conversation introduces why Dance Sport Trust was created, what we are beginning to build, and why these conversations matter now.

The event will be founder-led, with a Q&A at the end.
